Meet the team: Jonas

What drives NEW STANDARD.S forward: It’s the people who show up with ideas, values, and curiosity every day. That’s why we’d like to introduce you to the faces and stories behind our studio.

– What is your role at NEW STANDARD.S and what motivated you to start working here?

I work at NEW STANDARD.S as a sustainability consultant, supporting companies and public sector clients together with my team — from developing strategies to implementing concrete actions in the areas of sustainability and circular economy. What really convinced me about NEW STANDARD.S is that it’s not just a typical consultancy. The studio brings participatory formats into local spaces, actively involves stakeholders, and creates impact both strategically and operationally.

– What do you think urgently needs to change?

In my view, many cities — including Berlin — need a stronger link between strategy and practice. It’s not enough to set sustainability goals; we need to identify real levers for change, make responsibilities transparent, and consistently shape the transformation along the flow of resources. That’s the only way cleanliness and circularity in cities will become more than just buzzwords — and actually lead to measurable impact.

– What occupies and inspires you outside of the studio?

Outside of work, I’m particularly passionate about participatory urban projects and local neighborhood initiatives where people come together to improve quality of life in their area. I’m also inspired by systemic approaches that connect circular economy, mobility, energy, and urban development — in short, integrated ways to shape how we live in cities.
