Our 2025 in review

For us, 2025 was about sharpening what we do, who we do it for, and how we work together. The studio turned five and matured—structurally, strategically, and culturally.

We held our ground where it mattered: a four-day work week, zero employee turnover while growing the team, and a strict commitment to sustainability. We continued to work only with clients we stand behind—and kept saying no to those that weren’t a fit, despite an overall uncertain economic context. At the same time, we grew decisively: deepening our expertise around circular economy, Ecodesign, the EmpCo directive and related regulation, as well as brand strategy, and moving towards a more holistic way of working—combining strategy, implementation, and communication into integrated, outcome-oriented packages.

JANUARY
The year started with alliances and groundwork. We joined the sustainable natives consulting cooperative as a friend, laying the foundation for deeper collaboration that would follow. We shot the A-GAIN GUIDE campaign and launched the “Zero is Hero” website for Zero Waste Berlin, setting the tone for a year deeply rooted in circular communication.

FEBRUARY
Max stepped out for ten days of Vipassana silence—and, unsurprisingly, the studio proved it can run without its founder. Kreisler’s crowdfunding campaign secured its financial base for 2025. Internally, we evolved our transparent salary scheme, adding responsibility across domains as a structural factor.

MARCH
We accompanied the launch of an updated website for  IMMPACT, onboarded Annelie as Operations Manager and Felix as Design Intern, and put circularity back on Berlin’s streets with OOH campaigns for A-GAIN GUIDE and Null Müll Neukölln.

APRIL
We launched the CSRD Omnibus campaign “Starke Wirtschaft” for BNW, hosted an influencer dinner for A-GAIN GUIDE, and ran the Lange Nacht der Textilretter. Management shifted: since April, Max leads solo. This triggered internal promotions and a studio-wide process to clarify roles, responsibilities, and workflows—with one goal: focus and quality. Also, we went bowling.

MAY
We hosted our first Circular Storytelling webinar and kicked off work on the white paper, which was launched later that year. Together with Conal, we ran a second strategy workshop identifying potential measures to make their SME more circular. Besides that, we reorganised our 90 sqm office to better support how we actually work.

JUNE
Public sector work intensified: We kicked off projects with Berlin-Reinickendorf and Berlin-Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, including a systemic investigation around Kottbusser Tor. Max joined the Degrowth Conference in Oslo. For Conal, we finalised a Net-Zero transformation concept.

JULY
We ran internal AI workshops, wrapped up years of work with ProjectTogether on the reuse alliance, and facilitated a multi-stakeholder co-creation workshop for “Kotti räumt auf.” We received over 100 applications for strategist and designer roles and launched the Green Teams website.

AUGUST
Despite holiday season, our design team got an AI deep dive and ideas how to use new tools in the design process. We went to Berlin’s Museum of Capitalism and had a BBQ at Louise’s garden.

SEPTEMBER
Action on the ground: For the district office Berlin-Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, we organised three neighbourhood activation days. We launched the Sufficiency in Business Playbook with TU Berlin and the Repair Deal campaign for Berlin (which is still on, in case you want to get a good deal on your next jeans repair). A-GAIN GUIDE went viral on Instagram. Max spoke at the first FORM/FUTURE conference at Berlin’s iconic ICC and Nina joined our team as our first sustainability consulting intern. The design team travelled to the Us By Night festival in Antwerp—and decided to commission Philotheus Nisch and Benedikt Luft to expand our visual language with photography and icons.

OCTOBER
The team kept growing: Anna, Creative Strategist, and Louis, Digital Designer, joined us. We launched our brand refresh and website with new case studies, which have kept the design team busy for weeks. First, we celebrated five years of NEW STANDARD.S, then we went on a three-day offsite in Brandenburg, introducing OKRs to our organisation. RE:DORF hit the streets with its first OOH campaign at the end of the month.

NOVEMBER
After co-hosting a climate adaptation workshop for tourism region Saalfelden Leogang in Austria, we joined Impact Festival Frankfurt with B Corp peers and a Circular Storytelling masterclass. While Kreisler won the DDC “Was ist gut” award for System Design, our project Machbarschaft won the BSR Zero Waste Award.

DECEMBER
Max joined the Interreg project Creative Circular Cities in Turku, advising six partner cities and delivering a keynote. Kreisler won Berlin’s “Mittendrin” competition and will transform a 200 sqm outdoor space into a neighbourhood hub. We kicked off collaboration with endlich.academy for team-wide training and wrapped up our 2024 Impact Report — with a more substantial update in the works.

Looking ahead, we’re entering the next phase with the strongest and most motivated team we’ve ever had—diverse in skills, complementary in mindset. After five years of experimentation across sectors, formats, and roles, we’re clear on our strengths and focused on the services we do best.

If you’re looking for a partner to move beyond compliance, connect strategy with action and communication, and make circularity work in the real world: write us. We’re ready to set new standards.
