Meet the team: Annelie

What drives NEW STANDARD.S forward? Its the people who show up with ideas, values, and curiosity every day. Thats’s why we’d like to introduce you to the faces and stories behind our studio.

What is your role at NEW STANDARD.S and what motivated you to start working here?
I’m a Project and Operations Manager at NEW STANDARD.S, making sure our projects run smoothly, the team has a balanced workload, and clear structures support the creative process. I joined NEW STANDARD.S because I wanted to be more involved in the field of sustainability. Before this, I worked on socio-political projects that focused on impact and values. At NEW STANDARD.S, I get to combine that with my interest in topics like the circular economy.

What do you think urgently needs to change?
Our consumption habits urgently need to change. But often, there’s a lack of knowledge about how things could actually be done differently. That’s exactly what we work on in many of our projects at NEW STANDARD.S — and I find that really enriching in my personal life too: learning from each other, sharing alternatives, and exchanging ideas on things like swapping or repairing instead of buying new.

What occupies and inspires you outside of the studio?
I’m interested in sustainable building practices that are designed around self-sufficient, closed-loop systems and always get excited when I come across projects that use eco-friendly materials and a lot of creativity to create something new. And I love upcycling old and broken furniture. I also keep thinking about how we can shape our society into a place where everyone has equal rights and opportunities — and how each of us can contribute to that, step by step, through small everyday actions.
